Medifast Recipes to Enhance Weight Loss By Christopher A. Allen

Medifast is a very effective way to lose weight. People love it because it takes a lot of the guesswork out of planning what you are going to eat for the day. The plan is very simple. Each day you consume 5 Medifast foods and one Lean and Green Meal. This is known as the Medifast 5-1 plan.
Many people wrongly believe that Medifast is a liquid diet. This may have been true once, but it's simply not the case anymore. While shakes are a big part of the weight loss program, the company has expanded to include other foods including oatmeal, chili, soups, meal bars and even cheese puffs. While these foods are delicious, it's easy to get into a rut.
In the early days of the program, Medifast dieters are advised to keep it as simple as possible. By using a combination of the pre-packaged foods, it's easy to add some variety to your day. Keep your Lean and Green meal simple as well. The early stages of any diet are difficult enough. Just let your body get used to the new regime.
After a week or two on plan, you will probably get tired of eating the same things every day. But you'll also have lost some weight and know for sure that Medifast is working. This is a good time to enhance your Medifast journey with some new recipes.
The 2 Basic Types of Medifast Recipes
Over the years, the Medifast community has been very resourceful. The people who lose weight on the program are very enthusiastic and have pooled together their resources to create a LOT of great recipes. These recipes fall into two basic groups:
1. Lean and Green Recipes. These are designed for the previously mentioned "real meal" that you get to eat each day. These recipes combine a certain amount of animal or vegetable protein and a certain amount of leafy greens. When you start the program you will receive a guide so that you know the proper proportions. The great thing about these meals is that you get to eat quite a bit. You're just eating healthy stuff. The Lean and Green Recipes take out all the guesswork, because their creators have already figured out how much of each ingredient to use so that you can eat some tasty meals while stying in your weight burning zone.
2. Medifast Meal-Based Recipes. There has been an explosion of recipes that use Medifast mixes to create entirely new food items. The geniuses at Medifast probably never imagined that Medifast dieters would figure out ways to turn oatmeal and shake mixes in pancakes, crepes, muffins and cookies. The good news is that the pre-packaged Medifast foods serve as a pretty excellent base for your own culinary creations. And who doesn't get a craving for brownies or tomato bread every once in a while?
Medifast Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe
If this all sounds too good to be true, it isn't. To prove my point, here's a delicious recipe for making Peanut Butter cookies from oatmeal and pudding. It may sound crazy, but it's delicious!
INGREDIENTS
1 package MF maple brown sugar oatmeal
1 package MF vanilla pudding
1/2 tablespoon baking powder
2 packages splenda
1 tablespoon Davinci sf peanut butter syrup
1 capful vanilla extract
1 tablesspoon crunch peanut butter
good sprinkle of cinnamon
Mix ingredients into a batter. Roll the batter into 6 balls and flatten them into cookie shapes. Spray the cookie sheet with non-stick PAM or other cooking spray. Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for 12 min. Servings: 2 Medifast meals and 1 snack.
This is just a start. There are thousands more delicious recipes for Medifast. I have used many of them personally and they have greatly enhanced my quick weight loss experience.
