In this article we are going to take a quick look at a typical
Medifast meal. Simply stated, while so many of us are familiar with the
CONCEPT of meal replacement diets, far fewer really understand what
exactly typical meal looks! (and tastes like) So read on as we take a
look at what a Medifast meal, and day looks like - and I'll give you a
few more proven medifast tips while we're at it! Read on.
What is a Medifast meal really like?
Very simple! You are going to be having 6 meals a day while on the Medifast diet. 5 of these meals are going to be meal replacement choices that you will pick from over 60 different options - shakes, soups, bars, puddings and more! The 6th meal is going to be what is referred to as a "lean and green" meal, which is a lean protein (7 ounces), salads and greens and more.
My recommendation ( and the official Medifast position) is to eat your lean and green for dinner, and choose a healthy, filling piece of beef, chicken, fish or tofu.
As far as the meal replacement portion goes, I LOVE the shakes, so if you share a passion for chocolate, vanilla and dairy queen style diet food, you will probably join me in savoring these 5 selections as much as I do! I also find the shakes are BEST to spread out about 3 hours apart. This keeps my appetite satiated, and my day well structured....which I have found to be a sensational strategy for dropping REAL weight, and FAST!
Either way, the meals are ALL great...and my biggest problem is often NOT eating too many.
